Schools are out or delayed for snow today, which is going to wreck the long day of setup for the sale. Yikes!

C25K week 3, day 4
I finally got through the week 3 workout today, but it was tough. Walked at 3.7, ran at 5.0, that last minute was rough.
Probably won’t get to run again until Sunday night or Monday morning… items start coming in to the sale tomorrow.
C25K week 3, day 3
I ended up with 3 days of rest courtesy of the epizudic that is running rampant through my house. That turns out to be a good thing since today I ran in my new shoes!
Yea for new shoes! Yea for motion-control/stability shoes! Yea for ordering 1/2 size up and narrow instead of my usual size! I’m very, very happy. I can already tell that my knees and shins feel better. The shoes I’ve been wearing are more of a run-walk shoe with less stability. Now I finally understand why my legs hurt so bad everything I walked on the treadmill last fall – I was wearing my old New Balance shoes and they must just be worn out.
I actually decided to keep 2 pairs of the many I ordered to try. Didja know that Zappos doesn’t price match anymore? So, I kept the New Balance that were only $5 cheaper on the other site, but sent back the Asics and ordered them from the other site where they were $23 cheaper! I even dropped the box of returns at the post office on my way to the gym so that is one less thing on my to-do list.
I plan to run on Monday but don’t think I’ll be able to again until at least Sunday and probably next Monday. I still wasn’t 100% today and will probably continue with week 3 for a few more times before moving on to week 4.
silence
My house is totally silent. DH left an hour ago to take the boys to his parent’s house, where they will stay until next Sunday.
I have a to-do list a mile long as we’ll move into the sale location on Tuesday night. I have at least 150 more bags to stuff with 15 different flyers. I’m still a little sick , but on the mend.
531 pieces of NWT boutique clothing arrived from a manufacturer today. I have to tag and hanger it all by Monday. I also have a box full of running shoes to try on from Zappos. I ordered at 8 AM yesterday and they arrived with the clothing at 3 PM today. I (heart) Zappos and the fact that they are just 1.5 hours from me.
I have to clean, pack, email every single person involved with the sale, and do a million other things. Right now, I’m delighting in the silence, the fact that I have a full DVR and iPod, and a haircut appointment tomorrow. You’d think after 4 1/4 years, I’d be used to the noise and activity, but it still bothers me sometimes. I’ll miss them, but I still love the silence.
C25K week 3, day 2
I’m getting sick. ARG! The sale is next week and I don’t have time to be sick. DH is worse than me, arg, arg, arg!
I’ve just got a cough and mild achiness. Thing One and Thing Two had sports class at the Y and I went back and forth all day about running like I had planned. I decided no, then last minute changed in to my workout clothes and figured I could at least walk even if I didn’t feel like running.
I fired up the C25K podcast and gave it a try. I almost made it, I didn’t finish the last minute of running. I was on the track and moving very slow, not even the 5 MPH I get to on the treadmill. I’m taking tomorrow off for sure and just see how I feel on Thursday. Next week will be hard with the sale so I may just repeat week 3 again.
I do not have time to be sick!
C25K week 3, day 1
I ran for THREE MINUTES straight. Without stopping. Seems silly, but that’s a major accomplishment for me.
Actually, I walked for 5, ran for 1.5, walked for 1.5, ran for 3, walked for 3, ran for 1.5, walked for 1.5, ran for 3 and then walked to slow down and even more around the track to chat with a friend. Six hours later, my shins sorta hurt.
I still find it hard to believe that I’ll be able to run for 20 minutes straight in just two weeks.
I’m sticking with it, though. We’re registered for the Expedition Everest 5K Challenge in September and a challenge has been issued to BIL #3 and SIL to run a 5K with us in August. It was initially her idea last August that set all this in motion.
C25K week 2, day 3
Today has sucked in various and assorted ways that I may or may not post about later.
My run, however, did not suck! I was on the treadmill at the Y while Thing One and Thing Two were in karate class. I walked at 3.5 to 3.7, ran at 5.0 and didn’t feel like I was going to collapse at the end of every 90 second run.
Week 3 steps up to 90 second runs alternated with 2 minute runs.
Tomorrow is the day to register for the Expediton Everest race.
more details on Expedition Everest 5K
Registration opens Friday. DH (who came home from work in a much better mood than he left in) said I should register if it will keep me training. Knowing that it is a “real 5K” makes me want to be sure I run the 2 other 5K’s I know of that are close to me this August.
Looks like it will be a full 5K, then an obstacle course, then a scavenger hunt. The 5K will start at 7 PM and the “party” will be from 10-12 PM, so we’ll definitely need some sort of child care, possibly going with Fairy Godmothers or some another in-room sitter than can put Thing One and Thing Two to bed in the room.
Someone said that Disney told them the 1 day tix would only be good at AK and DHS for about a 10 day period. I was thinking of trying to upgrade them to a 10 day, non-expiring hopper for later use, or giving them to T & E if they are able to come to Orlando.
Right now, I’m booked in a studio at BCV for Thurs/Fri/Sat but planned to try to move somewhere else as soon as my 7 month window opens. DH wants to stay at Wilderness Lodge Villas but I wonder if there is any advantage to trying for Animal Kingdom Villas.
